15 dead in Iraq in series of attacks

Baghdad: A series of attacks occured in Baghdad surroundings. Iraqi officials said that today A series of attacks including one involving a suicide bomber driving a tanker truck, killed at least 15 people. The suicide attacker targeted a security checkpoint in the Mikeshifa village near the city of Samarra. Nine Iraqi soldiers and Shiite militiamen were killed.  A bomb explosion in a commercial place in Baghdad killed two people and seven were wounded.
